Jossie Torres is an architect, regenerative designer, bio-based materials specialist, entrepreneur, yoga instructor and akashic records practitioner — working at the intersection of nature, community and built form. Since 2016, her work has been rooted in nature's principles, ancestral and natural building systems, participatory design and the creation of intentional spaces that generate beauty and regenerate ecosystems.
Born and trained in Nicaragua and Guatemala, Jossie expanded her practice internationally through a Master's program in Integrated and Sustainable Design for Urban Contexts at Stuttgart University in Germany, where she deepened her understanding of ecological and social integration in community design. Building on this foundation, she joined a program at Jakarta's Universitas Indonesia, where her team won both the Advanced Design Category and the People's Choice Award in a parametric design course for post-disaster bamboo structures. That award-winning design became the seed of a Yoga Shala on Isla de Ometepe, Nicaragua — and the structural principles she developed there have since inspired two additional builds across the country.
Her work reflects a natural evolution — from co-founding an architecture studio in Nicaragua focused on natural building, to leading her own solo practice under Jossie Torres Architecture, and now stepping into a new entrepreneurial chapter with ventures rooted in bamboo design and creative innovation.
Her work spans Nicaragua and Costa Rica — from land projects, bamboo structures and landscaping collaborations, to regenerative residential architecture rooted in bio-based materials, sacred geometry and living building systems.
