Immersive Sculpture Artist | Program Consultant

Ibeya Allf is a multidisciplinary artist and professional with deep roots in science and a passion for cultivating curiosity, wonder, and connection to the natural world. She brings together the problem-solving rigor of her academic training in astrophysics, the human-centered perspective developed through years as a science educator, and the visual thinking shaped by a lifelong practice in art and design.

After earning a B.S. in Physics and an M.S. in Astrophysics, Ibeya spent a decade as Education Programs Manager at Fiske Planetarium, where she trained students in science communication, helped develop planetarium films shared worldwide, and even flew aboard NASA’s SOFIA airborne observatory.

Her career has since evolved toward sustainability and regenerative design. Through experiences such as building with bamboo in Bali and completing the Climatebase Fellowship, she’s focused on creating spaces and experiences that integrate art, design, architecture, sustainability, science, and human connection.

At the heart of Ibeya's work is the belief that awe is a bridge to the natural world. When we are moved by nature’s beauty, we are more likely to care for it. She creates spaces that invite curiosity, playfulness, and comfort – qualities that open us to deeper connection with the living world. Her practice explores how art and design can evoke wonder through light, materiality, and immersive, sensory experiences. Inspired by ecological phenomena such as the quiet glow of worms in a cave or the golden shimmer of aspen leaves in motion, She works with natural, repurposed, and bio-based materials to create environments that honor cyclical processes. Through this approach, I aim to align art and design with the regenerative rhythms of nature.
