Build Dashboard

Nine days. Three shifts a day. One bamboo tree. This is the living plan — what happens each shift, which crews carry it, and how far along we are. Self-assign your shifts on the crew sheet; this page is the shared picture.

9 days3 shifts a day · ★ evening 3–7p is the all-hands push
How build week works: Morning 7–11a · Evening 3–7p (★ all-hands, before dinner) · Night 9p–1a. Everyone picks 2 of 3 shifts. Every shift has 1–2 leads (Ed · Elliot · Jimmy · Kalob). Buffers are built into the week, not parked at the end. Meals: 1 breakfast / 2 lunch / 2 dinner+social duty across the week. Self-assign your shifts on the crew sheet — this page is the shared picture.

Step through every phase of the tree

Drag to orbit, scrub the timeline, or tap a phase — each one shows the matching steps from the build manual. The structural geometry (trunk, roof, limbs, grid shell, bark, roots) comes straight from Ed's Rhino engineering model; the decorative layers are simplified sketches.

20 crews carry the tree

Crews are task teams, not fixed rosters — self-assign on the crew sheet. Most people ride with 2–3 crews across the week.

What we have, and where it goes when the container opens. Three piles: the Tree stays with the project, the main shade rides the camp box truck, and the container work-shade is tracked separately against the extras pool. Camp pile — main shade structure

CAMP — box truck

The camp commons shade (~20 m canopy on a 22 m guy-anchor spread, steel tension ring, ~20 fabric sails). Built first on arrival. All cut from the BOQ extras pool.

Rafters 7.6 m (tali blonde ø70–90)20
Perimeter rails 5.5 m (tali brown ø70–90)10
Tower poles 5.5 m10–20 (Ed to confirm)

Container work-site shade — tracked separately

Travels with the project container (it mounts on it)

Elliot's sketch 07-22: lean-to off the shipping container long side, for shade at the tree build site.

Wall poles 4 m (stand off container wall)4
Rafters 6 m (container roof → outer rail)4

Outer rail (from 5 m / 5.5 m remainder)TBD

Extras pool — what's left after the shades take their cut

BOQ section 1B. Main shade + container shade draw from these; the balance stays with the Tree as spares.

Open decisions

  • 3 m poles short by 8 (38 needed vs 30) — pull 8 from the 4 m pool or cut down longer stock
  • Shade tower pole count (10–20 × 5.5 m) — decides whether the 5.5 m pool covers or runs short
  • Container-shade outer rail: length + which pool (5 m suggested)
  • BOQ 'Bamboo Shade' ×4 — camp or project pile?
  • Central props ~10 — confirm length and reserve pool
